I SEE A PATTERN
Patterns are all around us – from the tiles on the floor, the way seeds pack into flowers – even the way the fruit get stacked in a supermarket. We (i.e. you) just have to notice them (and take a picture).

Amethyst crystals normally have 6 sides! These ones were found inside a geode.
These socks have lots of patterns. A knitter needs knit in a pattern to make socks which are stretchy and fit your foot. They can then add different colours to make extra patterns like these stripes, triangles and pandas.

Patterns in sand at the beach. As the waves come in and out they create these patterns.
These clams form a pattern in how they are attached to the rock. Look how most of them are facing in the same direction.

I MADE A PATTERN
We’ve provided some inspiration for ways that you can create a piece of art, such as printing using potatoes, making shapes with light to inspired by the mathematical work of Escher, or creating symmetrical patterns of your own using graph paper. But feel free to come up with your own ideas!
