2023 Events
In 2023, we have a series of activities that will be centred around our big international congress (IUCr 2023), where crystallographers (pattern scientists) from all over the world will be in Melbourne to discuss their great work.
WE BUILD A PATTERN - ATTEMPT TO BREAK A WORLD RECORD!
Join us in August 2023 and help us break a world record. We will be somewhere in the Melbourne CBD with free access.

WE SHOW SOME PATTERNS
We are going to have a ‘Crystal Extravaganza’ at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre during 22-29 August and you are invited to visit and play!
Not only are we going to display the results of the pattern competition (with commentary from our professional pattern scientists), but we’ll have science exhibits, giant molecules and crystal structures and, hands-on activities.
YOU GET MODELS FOR PATTERNS
As a legacy from all our activities, we want to send to primary schools all over Australia and New Zealand a crystal model building kit (or as many as we can!). We’ll be providing some info sheets of activities to run with the kits too.
